Facilitating the protection and restoration of species and ecosystems at risk on BC’s South Coast

SCCP Stewardship Practices Workshop - Stanley Park: A ‘Shrew’der Approach to Practice and Management

In Canada, the red-listed, federally at risk Pacific Water Shrew or “PWS” (Sorex bendirii) is found only in specific riparian habitats in the extreme southwest of BC (Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Howe Sound). This workshop was designed to provide an overview and update on PWS inventory and management practices for land managers (regulators and policy makers and professional practitioners dealing with species at risk on the South Coast). It will also link conservation approaches for one species towards supporting the broader objectives of multi-species planning and stewardship for species at risk on BC’ South Coast.
