Supporting Nature: Gardening with Native Plants in the Fraser Valley

Want to have a thriving garden that helps local wildlife, including birds, butterflies and bees? Join the South Coast Conservation Program, in partnership with the University of the Fraser Valley, for a free introductory afternoon workshop on how to create a nature-friendly backyard using native plants. 

Brian Minter will join us a main speaker. Brian is known as BC's go-to garden expert. In Chilliwack, he is known for the establishment of Minter Gardens and operating the Minter County Garden Store. Through his extensive gardening experience, he has hosted many radio and television shows. He is also a prolific gardening column writer and the author of a best selling book. He is the recipient of the 'Order of Canada'. 

Hosts for the event will be: Tamsin Baker, Stewardship Coordinator of the SCCP, and Dr. Renee Prasad, Assistant Professor (Agriculture) of the University of the Fraser Valley.

Each participant will receive a copy of the 'Gardening with Native Plants in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley' guide.
